Wm Brown recently completed the installation and commissioning of a large combined smoke and natural ventilation system at the new JICC project in the Scottish Borders.

The £35M scheme designed by Glasgow based architects Stallan-Brand, has over 100 opening windows installed by CMS - forming a building wide ventilation system, zoned to provide optimal air quality for students, teachers and other members of the local community that enjoy the new space.

Compliance was key on this project, and Wm Brown designed the smoke ventilation installation to meet all relevant EN12101 and Construction Product Regulation (CPR) standards.

SE Controls SECONi 24 40 twin chain actuators were installed as per the EN12101-2 tested solution in conjunction with Metal Technology windows, enabling a Declaration of Performance to be supplied - delivering a complete system certified as being fully compliant.
